59 Portraits Project started with one Question.
Do I know my surroundings?
Sharath worked on this 59 Portraits Project – 2017 Edition from 16th July 2017 to 12th September 2017. For him It was a great way of learning Portraiture by practicing and understanding his surroundings.
Some people live miles and miles away from each other. Through these Portraits, made during casual encounters along the roads crisscrossing city streets,towns,villages he surfaces deeper observations about local geography and culture that someone across the world may not otherwise encounter.

His name is Nihal. His eyes questioning me why the hell are you shooting my Portrait?
What is this all 59 Portraits Project is about?
I started this Project for two reasons –
First reason is I want to get out of my flat for a purpose on shooting something.
Second reason is Do I know the people in my surroundings where I live?

His name is Narsappa. 40 years back he migrated from Bijapur district, Karnataka to Hyderabad. He is Living in Hyderabad. He works with Pentaiah band. He plays ‘TASHA’ in the band. He told. the dress he wore now is only for Master’s in the band.

His name is Thate rao. He is from Lathur district, Maharashtra. He is a farmer. He came to Hyderabad to visit his relatives. When I asked what’s in your shirt pocket. He told he always carries paan in that pocket.
I wasn’t intentionally shooting portraits of people who migrated or who visited Hyderabad.

His name is Kaka Swamy. He works for a travel company at Begum bazar,Hyderabad. When I saw Haldi on his forehead, I thought there are Trees, there are Birds. there are Sandwiches, there are Televisions and so there are Beliefs.

His name is Mohammad Yousuf.
He buys and sells scrap material like TV remotes, Mobile phone chargers, Mobile phone panels & electric lights. He is having a stall at Jumerat bazar weekly market since 1955. In earlier days He paid 2 ana to Muncipality.

He is Ramulu Vemula. He is a farmer from Nagarkurnool District.
His grand child admitted at Niloufer Hospital,Hyderabad.
He told me the hospital staff won’t allow men in to wards, he was looking for a job in a cafe.
He told me with happiness, that his daughter works as a Teacher at Vanasthalipuram, Hyderbabd.

Her name is Bagirathi bai. She told me she studied 7th in the year of 1963, she mentioned in the year Jawaharlal Nehru died. She is having a small Kirana shop at Red Hills,Lakdikapul since 1981. She told me with happiness, that she has been to Vaishno mandir at Jammu & Kashmir. She born and brought up in Uttara Pradesh state, I thought we are all migrated.

His name is Aavulakunta Dhanunjay. He is from Kadapa district. He lost his one leg due to cancer affected. He is surviving with one son. He is hoping that government might help him.

He drives auto for living. He told me he charge customers by meter reading, with that customers will be happy.

His name is Sena Ram. He makes Halwa sweet for weddings.

Fourteen.
He is Khaleel. He told, we don’t survive by looting others, we survive by doing hard work daily. He has a dog. he told me it’s his bodyguard. He call his dog as Meri Pyaari. he told me even if he beats merit pyari,it comes after him. In our conversation, I told I studied degree in photography,he told me studying is not important, look at the world. I realised we live in a trans sometimes,that we feel we know something related to our work. Do we? He showed a tree behind him and told me this tree is my shelter. He told me he won’t beg for money,people offer me food and money. After I had a photo with him he was laughing at it and pointed out that and said he looks like saibaba.
He told me two words, I used to remind often & we all love it, that line is Aage bhado [ move on ]

His name is Inayath. He is a lorry driver. He drives to Mancherial to Hyderabad to Mancherial. He is a native of Mancherial. Lorry carries Coal from Mancherial to hyd. Lorry carries Onions,ginger,garlic from Hyderabad to Mancherial.

His name is Mallarapu Anjaneyulu. He is a two wheeler mechanic. Everytime I passed by the street,where he works, I used to look at him,his dress for when working and his eyewear looked new to me.

I am happened to visit our state Cabinet Minister K T Rama Rao chamber and a shoot a Book Launch event, the book titled as ‘ Padugu Pekalu ‘ [ the book has been published in Telugu language ].
One of the book launch Editors Sangishetty Srinivas anna called me to shoot Photographs of the book launch.
Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao popularly known as K.T.R. , is an Indian politician from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. K.T.R. is a Member of Legislative Assembly from Sircilla (Assembly constituency).
He currently serves as the Cabinet Minister for the State for different portfolios namely Information Technology (IT), Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD), Textiles and NRI Affairs.
